Welcome to “Mare Tranquillitatis,” our Sea of Tranquility. This is our vacation home, available for rental, located on Bald Head Island. The southernmost of North Carolina’s cape islands, Bald Head Island is located where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Bald Head Island, accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat, boasts 14 miles of spectacular beaches, thousands of acres of protected salt marshes and a large expanse of maritime forest.
Once on the island, transportation is by electric golf cart, bike or on foot. Life proceeds at a pleasantly unhurried pace amidst unspoiled nature and unparalleled oceanside beauty. It is truly a magical getaway where vacation memories are made.
